For those of you who don’t know me very well yet, my name is Raisa. I’m a mother to the sweetest baby boy and a lucky wife to a wonderful husband, Tim.
My family moved a lot when I was younger, particularly because dad worked with a multinational oil company that required him to be in different places all the time. This gave me the opportunity to learn, explore, grow, meet new people, and most importantly, see the world from a whole different light. I went to law school in Wales when I was seventeen and graduated with a Law degree from Cardiff. I then continued my Masters in Petroleum Law in Scotland.
Sudan was home for me for many years. My parents lived in an apartment in front of the Nile River where I used to horse ride on most weekends. Sudan was also where I learned much of the Arabic language (and do not speak any of it today) After that, my family moved to Brunei. That was where I learned how to golf and I have been obsessed with it ever since.
I came back to Malaysia in January 2017 wondering if it was finally time for me to come home for good. A day after Christmas in the same year I met the love of my life, and four months later we tied the knot. 2018 quickly became a real adventure for us, filled with ups and downs and a lot to be grateful for. We welcomed our firstborn in August 2019 and realised that it was only the beginning. In the three years that we’ve been together, we have not only built a family, but we have also built a life together that’s filled with love, passion and respect.
Even though I am extremely blessed and happy to be where I am today, I am still working really hard to carve out my own space in this small world and achieve the dreams I have been dreaming of, for myself and for my family. I am a firm believer in bringing your whole self to the table if you want to thrive in today’s fast paced world; your personality, your sense of humour, and most importantly, your soul. We can’t always control the things that happen in life, but we can control our attention and intentions that will take us a step closer to our goals and dreams every day.
