For those of you who don’t know me very well yet, my name is Raisa. I’m a mother to the sweetest baby boy and a lucky wife to a wonderful husband, Tim.
Having a dad who worked with a multinational oil company, our family moved a lot and I went to several schools before I started law school in Wales. This means that I had the opportunity to make plenty of friends and see the world from a whole different light. I graduated with a Law degree and continued my Masters in Petroleum Law in Scotland.
Sudan was home for me for many years. This was where I learned much of the Arabic language (and do not speak any of it today!) After that, home for me was Brunei. That was where I learned how to golf and I have been obsessed with it ever since.
I came back to Malaysia in January 2017 wondering if it was finally time for me to come home for good. A day after Christmas in the same year I met the love of my life, and four months later we tied the knot. 2018 quickly became a real adventure for us that was full of ups and downs and a lot to be grateful for. We welcomed our firstborn in August 2019 and realised that it was only the beginning. In the three years that we’ve been together, we have not only built a family, but we have also built a life together that’s filled with love, passion and respect.
This blog will be a platform for me to share my journey and experiences with you - focused mostly on motherhood, women, family, and growth. I also want this to be a place where I can be really real, open and transparent with you. I promise they aren't just highlight reels because reality is so much more than sunshine and rainbows. Being a new mom comes with a lot of rough days and sometimes things can get a little funky around the house. Even though I am extremely blessed and happy to be where I am today, I am still working hard to carve out my own space in this small world and achieve the dreams I have been dreaming of, for myself and for my family.
You’ll get to know me better over time and I hope what I share with you here on this blog can be something of value to you. For many new moms out there, I wish for this to be a platform where you can resonate with and not feel like you're alone. We can’t always control the things that happen in life, but we can control our attention and intentions that will take us a step closer to our goals and dreams every day.
